Overview
The Lube Locker transmission pan gasket, part number LLR-A042, is a steel-core, rubber-coated gasket made for the 42RLE 4 speed transmission.

Before you install
A pan gasket works by compressing between two flat surfaces, so the pan flange and transmission case need to be clean and undamaged before fitting. Remove old residue with a plastic scraper, and check the flange for warping or deep scratches that could let fluid pass. Gaskets are generally replaced each time the pan comes off.
Tighten the pan bolts evenly in a crisscross pattern, and recheck them after the first few drives. After refilling, look under the vehicle for seepage at the pan edge over the following days, since small leaks often show up after the fluid has warmed up.
