Overview
The Lube Locker LLT-G350 is a transmission pan gasket made for the GM Turbo 350 automatic transmission. It uses a rubber-coated steel core with elastomer beading on both faces, running the full way around the gasket.
Lube Locker reports that the gasket will not split or extrude when fitted, and that it holds torque well. Installation is dry, so no sealant is used.
Key features
- Rubber-coated steel core
- Full perimeter elastomer bead on both faces
- Brand reports it will not split or extrude when fitted
- Dry fit with no sealant
Pan gasket care and reuse
A pan gasket compresses when the pan is torqued down, so a used gasket rarely seals reliably a second time. Clean the pan rail and the transmission case flange with a plastic scraper and solvent, removing old material without gouging the metal. Keep the surfaces dry before fitting the new gasket, since moisture or oil can cause it to shift.
Because this gasket is installed dry, the sealing relies on the elastomer beading and the flatness of both surfaces. Check that the pan is not bent and that the bolt holes line up before tightening. Once the transmission has run through a few heat cycles, recheck the bolts and the fluid level for any sign of seepage.
- Replace the gasket every time the pan comes off
- Clean both sealing surfaces thoroughly
- Recheck bolts after the first heat cycles
