Description

Overview

The Baer Brakes 6920863 is a right-side, 1-piece plain finish replacement brake rotor with a 14.000 inch outside diameter, made for select Baer Brake systems. A rotor gives the pads a flat, durable surface to clamp against, so this rotor replaces the right-side disc only. The rotor is directional and made for the right side of the vehicle.

It is a vented cast iron rotor with six studs on a 5.50 inch bolt circle and a 3.095 inch center hole. Each rotor is sold on its own, so the left side needs a separate unit.

Key features

  • Plain surface finish with no slots or drilled holes
  • Right-side directional brake surface
  • Curved vane design for cooling
  • Castings built for rotor stability and resistance to distortion
  • Dynamically balanced for smooth operation
  • Full cast, one-piece construction

Things to check

Plain-surface rotors are often chosen for daily driving and light off-road use, where pad wear stays even across a flat face. Before fitting, look at the old disc for heat cracks, a ridge at the outer edge, and glazed or blue areas that suggest overheating. A rotor with visible cracks or thickness loss should be replaced rather than machined.

The hub, caliper bracket, and wheel bearing all affect how a rotor runs, so inspect them while the wheel is off. Clean the mating surface so the rotor sits flat against the hub, then tighten the lug nuts in a star pattern as a technician would.

  • Check for play in the wheel bearing before mounting
  • Wipe rust and debris from the hub face
  • Bed in new pads gently over the first few stops
  • Re-check lug nut torque after the first drive

Questions & Answers

Is the Baer Brakes 6920863 for the left or right side?

It is a right-side rotor. It is directional and made for the right side of the vehicle, so it should not be used on the left.

Is the 6920863 a plain or slotted rotor?

It has a plain surface finish. It is a 1-piece, full cast iron rotor that is vented, with a directional brake surface and no slots or drilled holes.

Will part 6920863 fit my vehicle?

Only select Baer Brake systems are covered. Confirm fit for your vehicle's year, model and trim before ordering, and compare the 5.50 inch bolt circle and 3.095 inch center hole with your axle.

Does a plain rotor need special pads?

Most standard pads work on a plain cast iron rotor, but the pad compound should suit your driving. Choose pads that match your typical loads and speeds, and bed them in gently after installation.

How do I know when to replace the rotor?

Replace it when the surface shows deep scoring, cracks, or a lip at the outer edge, or when pulsation is felt through the pedal. Measure thickness against the minimum stamped on the rotor before deciding.
