Overview
The Rubicon Express RE1181 is a Gen II joggle sway bar link for the front of the Jeep Wrangler JK. It keeps the sway bar in its proper location after a suspension lift, where a lift changes the geometry the factory link was built for. The link helps the Jeep handle safely once the lift is in place.
It fits the 2007-2018 Wrangler JK in the 70th Anniversary, 75th Anniversary, Rubicon, Sahara, Sport, Sport S and X trims, and the Unlimited versions of those trims. It is a front, direct fit link and is non-greasable.
Key features
- Gen II joggle sway bar link
- Front position
- Keeps the sway bar in its proper location after a suspension lift
- Non-greasable design
- Direct-fit design for the listed JK models
Why geometry matters after a lift
A suspension lift changes the angles the sway bar was designed around, so the bar and its links no longer sit where the factory set them. A joggle link is shaped to hold the bar in position as the axle moves, which keeps the bar working through its travel. The link is a load path, so its condition affects how the vehicle handles when it is pushed.
When choosing a link, match the lift and the trim before buying, then compare the link’s position with the one it replaces. Sway bar bushings and end links often wear at the same time, so inspect them while the link is out. Check for clearance to the frame, the tire and the steering components after the install, since a lift can shift these too.
- Inspect the bar bushings for cracks
- Check end links for play
- Confirm clearance through full suspension travel

Installation notes
A sway bar link is a load path, so the link should be installed with the correct orientation and torqued to specification. Check the sway bar position after the lift and confirm the link has room to move through full suspension travel.
What’s included
