Pairing pods with a switch
A back-light pod is most useful when its switch sits where it can be reached without looking, since the light is often used at night or while stopped. A simple rocker or toggle switch in a fused circuit works well, and a separate switch lets the driver run the back-light without the main light. Route the switch wiring so it does not sit on the floor or in a path where feet and cargo can knock it.
White light is a common choice for work and camp use, but local rules on light color and position can differ, so check them before fitting the pods to a vehicle used on public roads. Clean the lens with mild soap and water and avoid harsh solvents, which can cloud the plastic. Inspect the seal around the housing at each service interval to keep the pods weather-resistant.
