Overview
The G2 Axle and Gear Core 44 rear metric axle housing (part 67-2052JKRRH) is a Dana 44 housing that fits 2007–2016 Jeep Wrangler (JK) 2-door and 4-door models.
The Core 44 is American-made and accepts the latest generation Dana 44 gear design, with a larger diameter ring gear and a bigger pinion shaft for hard off-road use. It has forged bearing caps and a G-lock adjuster nut system for setting backlash and carrier bearing preload. The axle tubes are 3 in. diameter, 5/16 in. wall DOM tubing with forged inner Cs, with extra ribbing on the cast center section. The brackets are laser cut and CNC formed from 3/8 in. steel, with gussets at weak points, and the housing has a UV-stable black powdercoat. The brackets follow the stock mounting points.
