Overview
The Smittybilt XRC Gen2 front bumper and rock slider package, part number XRCJK3.1, pairs a front and rear bumper with rocker guards for the 2007-2016 Jeep Wrangler JK 2-door. Smittybilt makes the package from 3/16 inch solid plate in a matte black powdercoat and backs it with a 5-year limited warranty.
The front bumper is the XRC Gen 2 Max stubby design, with a high degree approach angle and raised corners that maximize ground clearance. Light tabs on its 1.75 inch front stinger hold up to two 9 inch lights, and the front bumper is winch ready for winches up to a 10,000 lb rating. The rear bumper has raised corners for approach and departure angles with oversized tires. A tire carrier is sold separately and bolts directly to the Gen2 bumpers.

Rock sliders and trail use
Rocker guards protect the lower body from rock strikes and help the vehicle slide over obstacles rather than catching on them. They do most of their work on steep, rocky trails where the rocker line sits close to the ground, and they are easy to inspect after a trip.
A stubby front bumper shortens the nose, which helps approach angles but can change how the vehicle handles when a heavy winch is mounted. Plan the winch mount and line routing before the first use, and keep the winch within the rated capacity of the front bumper. Light tabs are useful for auxiliary lighting on night trails.
After rough use, inspect the rocker guard mounts, the bumper welds and the recovery points for cracks or loose hardware. Clean mud and grit from the powdercoat so corrosion does not start under chips, and touch up any bare steel promptly.

Vehicle fitment
The package fits 2007-2016 Jeep Wrangler JK models, in 2-door versions.
This rock slider package is for the 2-door JK only. The 2017-2018 JK years, the 4-door Unlimited, the TJ and the JL are outside its coverage. Check your year, model and trim against this before ordering.
Installation notes
The package bolts up to factory holes and requires no drilling or modifications. A tire carrier, if you want one, is added separately and bolts directly to the Gen2 bumpers.
