Description

Overview

The Rubicon Express JT7145T is a 4.5/5.5 inch sport suspension lift kit with geometry correction brackets and twin tube shocks for the 2020–2022 Jeep Gladiator JT. It is a direct fit for the 80th Anniversary, Altitude, High Altitude, Launch Edition, Mojave, Overland, Rubicon, Sport, Sport S, Willys and Willys Sport trims.

Lifts in this size range are designed to work both on pavement and off it. A lift of this size can change suspension and steering geometry, and the brackets are included to address that change.

The rear lift uses coil springs, the lift height range is 4 to 5.5 inches, and the specifications list a 37-inch tire size with twin tube shocks at both ends.

Key features

  • 4.5/5.5 inch sport suspension lift
  • Geometry correction brackets, per the title
  • Twin tube shocks at the front and rear, included
  • Coil spring rear lift method
  • Clearance for 37-inch tires, per the specifications

Twin tube shock care

Twin tube shocks have a working cylinder and a reserve chamber, which makes them a straightforward design to service. On a lifted Gladiator they are often the first part to show wear, since the longer travel puts more load on the shaft and the eyelets. Check for oil residue on the outer tube, a clunk at the mounts, and uneven damping between the left and right sides.

Shock hardware should be checked after the first few drives and again at each tire rotation. Make sure the eyelet bolts are tight and the rubber bushings are not cracked or flattened. Coil springs and shocks work together, so a sagging spring can make a healthy shock feel overworked. When replacing dampers, match the front and rear pair so the truck handles evenly.

Questions & Answers

Does the Rubicon Express JT7145T fit a 2020 Jeep Gladiator Mojave?

Yes. It fits the 2020–2022 Jeep Gladiator Mojave, which covers 2020 trucks. The Launch Edition and Sport trims are covered too.

Are the twin tube shocks included?

Yes. Twin tube shocks are listed at both ends, per the specifications, and the kit includes them as part of the sport lift.

What lift height range is listed?

The lift height range is 4 to 5.5 inches, with a tire size of 37 inches listed in the specifications.

How long do twin tube shocks usually last on a lifted truck?

Service life depends on terrain, load and driving speed, so there is no fixed interval. Replace them when the ride becomes bouncy, the body keeps moving after a bump, or oil appears on the shaft. Checking them at each service keeps the damping consistent.
