Overview
The Rancho RS44162 is a rear 2.5 inch leaf spring for Jeep CJ5 and CJ6 vehicles from 1959 to 1975. Rancho’s fitment list also names the CJ6A from 1966 to 1968 and Willys CJ-5 and CJ-6 models from 1955 to 1958. It is sold as a single spring, and two are needed to lift both rear sides.
Rear leaf springs locate the axle and carry a large share of the rear load, so the two sides should be replaced together. Rancho rates this spring for a lift height range of 0 to 4.99 inches. Rubber bushings are supplied with the spring, and Rancho describes the spring as direct fit.

Installation notes
Replace both rear springs together so the axle sits level and the springs carry equal load. After a lift, the rear pinion angle changes, so check driveline angles and have the rear end inspected after installation. Rubber bushings are supplied, so confirm the old bushings are removed before fitting the new set.
What’s included
One rear leaf spring with rubber bushings.
Not included: the second rear spring, which is needed because this spring is supplied one at a time.
