Driveline wear and U-joint care
A U-joint lets the driveshaft change angle as the axle moves, so it works hard every time the suspension travels. Wear usually shows as a clunk when shifting from drive to reverse, a vibration that rises with speed, or a squeak when turning from a stop. Because this joint has no lube channel, it cannot be greased through a fitting, so wear is often found by checking for play at the yoke.
When replacing a joint, look at the parts around it. Yoke ears, bearing caps and the pinion flange can wear and affect how a new joint seats. Driveshaft angles matter as well, and a joint that is worn at one end often means the other end needs attention. Clean the yoke bores before fitting the new cups, and keep the seals free of dirt during installation.
- Listen for clicks when turning from a stop
- Check for play at the yoke
- Inspect seal condition before installing

Vehicle fitment
No vehicle fitment is stated. The U-joint is named for Dana 30, 35 and 44 axles and gives cup and snap ring dimensions, so compare those with your existing joint before ordering.
Confirm your vehicle’s year, model and trim before ordering.
Installation notes
Check the cup size and snap ring to snap ring measurement against the old joint before ordering. U-joint replacement requires driveshaft removal, which a qualified technician should handle.
What’s included
Check the package contents and any needed hardware against your installation before starting.
