Choosing a lift height
Spring lift is only part of the front end setup. A taller front spring changes the angle of the driveshaft and steering components, so the rest of the suspension has to be matched to the new ride height. Shock length, brake hose length and steering geometry are the parts most often checked after a front lift.
Many owners replace the front shocks at the same time so damping stays matched to the new height. After installation, drive a short distance and re-check the U-bolts and hanger bolts, since fasteners can settle during the first few trips. A professional alignment helps the truck track straight once the new springs are seated.
