Description

Overview

The Rubicon Express TJ/LJ 3.5 inch Super-Flex adjustable upper and fixed lower system is a complete suspension for TJ and LJ Wranglers that keep factory short arm geometry. It combines flexibility and handling and uses twin tube shocks.

The package includes eight new control arms, with adjustable upper arms at the front and rear fitted with serviceable Super-Flex spherical ball joints. It also has an adjustable front track bar, 3.5-inch lift springs, extended bump stops, longer front stainless steel brake lines and Gen II sway bar disconnects. This version uses the twin tube shock design named in the title.

Key features

  • Eight new control arms
  • Adjustable upper front and rear control arms
  • Serviceable Super-Flex spherical ball joints
  • Adjustable front track bar
  • Replacement 3.5-inch lift springs
  • Extended bump stops
  • Longer front stainless steel brake lines
  • Gen II sway bar disconnects

Choosing a 3.5-inch system

A 3.5-inch lift changes ride height, the angle of the control arms and the length the shocks have to cover. A complete system with matched springs and arms keeps those changes consistent, which is easier to set up than mixing parts from different sources. The brake lines and sway bar disconnects must reach the new positions without strain.

Plan for an alignment and a steering check once the system is in. Recheck the bump stops and shock mounts after the first drives, since the new geometry can shift how they load. Keep a record of the torque on each fastener so future service is straightforward.

  • Plan an alignment after the lift is set
  • Recheck steering stops and the front track bar setting
  • Inspect bump stops for wear over time

Questions & Answers

Does the 3.5-inch Super-Flex fit a 2005 Jeep Wrangler LJ?

Yes. It fits the LJ, and a 2005 LJ falls in the 2004 to 2006 range. Before buying, verify your trim and that your Wrangler still has factory short arm geometry.

Is this the twin tube or mono tube version?

This title is the twin tube version, and it uses twin tube shocks. The mono tube version is a separate listing with the same system contents.

What does the system include?

It includes eight new control arms, an adjustable front track bar, 3.5-inch lift springs, extended bump stops, longer front stainless steel brake lines and Gen II sway bar disconnects.

Should the front driveline be checked after a 3.5-inch lift?

Yes. Check the front driveshaft angles once the lift is set, and look for binding at full droop. Recheck the brake hose length and sway bar disconnect fit at the same time.
