Overview
The TeraFlex RockGuard Transmission Skid Plate & Long Arm Crossmember Reinforcement, part number TER4609100 (4609100), is a 1/4″-thick 6061-T6 aluminum transmission skid for the 2018–2026 Jeep Wrangler (JL), 2-door and 4-door.
The RockGuard plate is wider and thicker than the stock skid, which adds rock protection under the transmission. It mounts to and reinforces the replacement Long Arm Crossmember, which has a 70% increase of max bending moment over stock. The plate requires one of the compatible Alpine long arm kits shown below, and it comes with all necessary hardware.

Skid plates and suspension geometry
A skid plate guards the transmission and transfer case from rock strikes, but it also changes how loads travel through the crossmember. Reinforcing the crossmember helps the plate hold its position when it takes a hit. Long arm suspension changes the geometry at the front and back of the vehicle, so the skid, crossmember and arms should be checked together after installation.
Aluminum skids are light and resist corrosion well, but they can crack at mounting points rather than dent. Driveshaft clearance and transmission mounts should be confirmed after the plate goes on, and any new contact marks on the plate should be noted during routine inspection.
