Twin tube shock basics
Twin tube shocks use a single working tube and a reserve chamber, a simple design that many owners find suits daily driving and light trail use. They are often a good match for a coil lift at a moderate height, since the valving can be set for the springs and tires. Twin tube shocks typically feel firmer at high speed and can get hot under long descents, so a shock with more capacity can help on steep trails. Compared with larger bodied designs, they are easier to replace, and parts are widely available.
Inspect the shock bodies for oil seepage, check the upper and lower mounts for cracked bushings, and listen for knocks over bumps. Worn shocks can cause the ride to feel bouncy or the tires to wear unevenly. Shocks are best replaced in pairs at each axle so the truck handles predictably. After any change in tire size, confirm the shock clears the spring and body at full compression.

It fits the 2018–2026 Jeep Wrangler (JL) 2-door trims, including the 80th Anniversary, Freedom, Islander, Rubicon, Sport and Sport S models, and the 4-door trims, including the Unlimited Freedom, High Altitude, Islander, Rubicon, Sahara, Sport and Willys models, plus the Rubicon 392.
Earlier Wrangler generations and the Gladiator are not on this list. Confirm your vehicle’s year, model and trim before ordering.
Installation notes
The coil lift and twin tube shocks change the ride height and damping, so the shock length and the alignment should both be rechecked after installation.
