Description

Overview

The Rigid Industries 40190 is a 13-foot wiring kit that connects a single 40-50 inch LED light bar to a 12V electrical system. It is universal fit and is not built for a particular vehicle.

The harness has battery terminals on one end and a Deutsch connector on the other, which plugs into the light. An inline fuse holder, a 12V relay and a waterproof switch are built in, and the wire is 14 AWG. It works with the 50 inch E-Series and 50 inch SR-Series LED lights.

Key features

  • 14 AWG wire
  • Battery terminals on one end
  • Deutsch connector for the light
  • Inline fuse holder
  • 12V relay
  • Waterproof switch

Routing a long harness

A 13 foot harness leaves room to route cable from the battery to a bar mounted on the bumper, roof or grille, but the extra length needs to be managed. Run the cable along existing frame channels, away from moving suspension, steering and exhaust heat. Use clips at regular intervals so the wire does not sag or rub.

Voltage drop becomes a concern on longer runs, so keep the battery terminal connections tight and clean. Where the cable passes through a body panel, use a grommet to protect the insulation. Check the Deutsch connector seal and the switch after rough trails, since water and mud are the usual causes of trouble.

  • Keep the fuse holder close to the battery
  • Use grommets where the cable passes through metal
  • Disconnect the battery before terminal work

Vehicle fitment

This harness is universal fit and is not built for one vehicle. It is designed for a single 40-50 inch LED light bar, so match it to your bar and your 12V system.

Confirm your vehicle’s year, model and trim before ordering.

Installation notes

Battery terminals sit on one end, so the 13-foot run has to reach both the battery and the light. Disconnect the battery before making the battery terminal connections.

Questions & Answers

Which Rigid Industries light bars does the 40190 harness work with?

It works with the 50 inch E-Series and 50 inch SR-Series LED lights. It connects a single 40-50 inch LED light bar to a 12V system, so confirm your bar model before wiring.

Does the harness include a fuse and a switch?

Yes. It includes an inline fuse holder, a 12V relay and a waterproof switch. The harness uses 14 AWG wire with battery terminals at one end and a Deutsch connector at the light end.

Is the Rigid 40190 harness specific to one vehicle?

No. It is universal fit, so it is not tied to a particular year, make or model. Choose it based on the light bar it connects to and your 12V system.

Can I add a second light to this harness?

No. The harness is designed for a single 40-50 inch LED light bar, so a second bar needs its own harness or a separate wiring plan. Check your 12V load before adding any accessory.
