Choosing an offset inlet
An offset inlet means the pipe enters the body away from center, so the position of the connection matters as much as the tube size. Before fitting, look at how the pipe approaches the muffler and whether it needs to bend or rotate slightly. A centered outlet can simplify the back end in many layouts, but the complete system still has to clear the body and mounting points.
Stainless steel with lap-joint welds handles heat and road conditions well, and the perforated core is designed for steady flow. Check the welds and mounting tabs each time the exhaust is serviced. If a hanger has stretched, an offset inlet can pull the joint out of alignment and stress the clamp.
