Overview
The Fox Racing Shox 985-24-141 is a Fox 2.0 Performance Series smooth body reservoir shock absorber. It is intended for Nissan Patrol applications, the Y60 for 1988-1997 and the Y61 for 1997-2013. Confirm fit for your vehicle’s year, model and trim before ordering.
A reservoir shock keeps its fluid reserve in an external canister instead of inside the main body. The extended length of 25.850 in., collapsed length of 16.250 in. and 9.600 in. stroke are the measurements to compare against your mounting points.

Reservoir shock maintenance
A reservoir shock separates its gas and oil reserve from the main body, which gives the piston room to work without foaming the fluid during hard use. Over time the seals, bushings and the hose fitting at the reservoir are the parts most likely to wear. Look for oil film on the body, a reservoir that feels loose on its bracket, or a hose that rubs against the frame or tire.
Because the extended and collapsed lengths set the working range, a worn shock that has lost damping can bottom out sooner than the old unit did. Inspect the eye mounts for play and replace the bushings when they split. On a truck that sees rough trail use, many owners service the front and rear shocks at the same time so the vehicle behaves predictably.
