Overview
The Tuff Country 12004 is a 2 inch front leveling lift kit with torsion bar keys for 2011 to 2018 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500 HD and 3500 HD trucks listed by the manufacturer. Tuff Country says its leveling kits level the front of a truck or SUV with the rear, allowing slightly larger tires and removing the nose-down factory rake.
The kit lifts the front only and uses torsion keys with a black steel spacer. Tuff Country says its kits are engineered to keep a factory or near-factory ride quality.
Key features
- 2 inch front leveling lift
- Torsion keys lift method
- Front lift only
- Black finish
- Steel spacer material
- Allows slightly larger tires.
Leveling and tire clearance
A leveling kit raises the front of the truck so it matches the rear height. This removes the nose-down stance that many trucks have from the factory and gives room for tires slightly larger than stock. The rear stays at factory height, so the load rating and ride still need to be considered.
Front leveling changes steering geometry and ball joint angles. Check the front shocks, control arms and bump stops for wear before the kit goes in, and recheck the alignment afterward. Larger tires add weight and rotating mass, so verify brake and steering clearance once the new tires are fitted.
- Check front shock length after the lift
- Inspect ball joints and tie rod ends
- Measure tire clearance at full steering lock
- Recheck fasteners after the first drives

Installation notes
Torque all fasteners to the correct values for your truck and check them after the first miles of driving. Professional installation is recommended for suspension, steering, brake and axle components. Support the truck on rated jack stands, never on a jack alone. Have the alignment checked after the work, check brake lines, wiring and driveline angles through full travel, and test drive at low speed before normal driving.
