Overview
The Smittybilt XRC 76861 is a set of rock sliders made from 3/16-inch solid plate and formed to follow the vehicle’s shape. The 1.75-inch over-rider tube gives extra protection along the lower edge of the body. The sliders are finished in a two-stage matte black powder coat.

Deciding whether to drill
Some rock sliders bolt to existing body holes, while others need the owner to drill new ones. Before buying, count the factory holes on the rocker and read through the install steps. If new holes are required, mark them with the slider held in place and check for brake lines, wiring and body seams first.
A powder coat can chip at the edges where rock contacts the plate, so touch up exposed steel to limit rust. Check the rocker and plate after rough trails, look for loose fasteners, and inspect the over-rider tube for dents that could shift the guard out of line.
