Overview
Part 13-16-020-DS is a BFH front bumper with shackle tabs and a Trail Stinger for the 1987–1995 Jeep Wrangler YJ, supplied in bare steel. The Trail Stinger design is a long-standing style that adds clean lines and a measure of forward-flop protection.
The stinger extends 13.4″ forward from the front edge of the bumper and stands 17″ high from the top surface. Underneath it, the bumper is a one-piece 3/16″ plate steel design no wider than the frame rails, with an integrated winch mount.
The BFH behind the stinger is brake-formed for an exact fit, with angled facets that help it slide over rocks. The stinger style is a familiar choice for trail Jeeps.
The recovery shackle tabs are engineered to match the angles of the bumper, so there is no loss in approach angle.
The Trail Stinger’s proportions are close to those of the classic Trail Stinger design. The bumper is made for four-wheelers who value strength, simplicity and function.

Trail stinger tradeoffs
A longer stinger adds protection in some situations and changes the front of the vehicle in others. The forward reach helps keep the hood line and grille off rocks, while the height adds a point of contact for forward roll. The same reach can reduce room for a tall winch fairlead or a light bar, so measure before deciding on accessories.
Maintenance is similar to other stinger bumpers. Inspect the stinger’s base joints, the welds where the stinger meets the bumper and the bolts at the frame after hard use. Touch up bare steel to limit rust, and keep the shackle tabs free of mud so they can be inspected. A stinger that has been bent should be checked before the next trail run.
