Caring for satin stainless
Satin stainless steel has a brushed look that hides minor marks, but it is still a metal that needs routine care. Rinse road salt and grime off the case when you wash the vehicle, and avoid abrasive pads that can leave scratches. The finish is most useful as a low-maintenance surface, not a substitute for inspecting the welds and joints underneath.

Tighten clamps after the first few drives, check hangers for stretching or cracks, and watch for soot near the joints. If a new tone or buzz appears, look for a leak at the connections before assuming the muffler is at fault.
