Overview
The MagnaFlow 11226 is a 2.5-inch satin stainless steel muffler with an offset inlet and a centered outlet. It uses a straight-through core inside a lap-joint welded stainless case.
The stainless construction is designed for solid, reliable use, including in harsh conditions. The core is perforated and wrapped in stainless mesh, then filled with acoustical material designed to resist sound degradation over time. It comes with a lifetime warranty.

Sound and durability over time
Tone comes from the interaction between the core, the wrap and the packing. A perforated core lets gas pass while the fill absorbs part of the sound energy, so the balance between volume and drone depends on how the parts work together. Engines with strong pulses often sound loudest at idle, so judge the note at a steady cruise.
Stainless steel resists rust better than mild steel, which makes it a practical choice where roads are salted or wet for long stretches. Stainless is also heavier and often costs more, so weigh it against how long you expect to keep the vehicle. A stainless shell still needs sound joints, because a cracked weld will leak regardless of the metal.
Inspect the muffler at each oil change. Look for cracks at the seams, crusty corrosion around the joints and loose hangers. Replacing worn hangers at the same time keeps the new muffler from sagging against the body.

Vehicle fitment
It is universal fit and no vehicle is named. Because the inlet is offset, make sure the pipe position lines up with your system, and confirm fit for your vehicle’s year, model and trim before ordering.

Installation notes
With an offset inlet, plan the pipe routing before final tightening so the connection sits square with the muffler body.
