Overview
The G2 Axle and Gear 30-9016 is a rear wheel bearing kit for Ford 10.25 and 10.5 inch rear axles on the 1984–1999 Ford F-250 and 1984–1997 Ford F-350, with all parts for one side.
The kit includes an inner wheel bearing and race, an outer wheel bearing and race and a wheel seal. Compare the bearing numbers with your old bearings before installing.

Rear bearing service
On a heavy-duty Ford rear axle, the wheel bearings take the load of the truck and whatever it carries, so a failing bearing can heat up and damage the axle tube or hub. Pulling the axle for service is a good moment to inspect the seal area and the bearing journal for pitting or heat discoloration. Compare the bearing size and style on your axle before installing, since the wrong bearing can run loose or bind.
Trucks used for towing often run a different load pattern than trucks used for light hauling, so inspection intervals should match how hard the truck works. A new seal every time the bearings are replaced keeps water and road grit out of the bearing area.
