Choosing a fused power source
Race use puts more demand on a light bar circuit, so the power feed matters. Plan the route before drilling anything. Pick a fuse that protects the wire and sits close to the battery, then route the feed through a relay so the switch only handles a small signal current. Keep the fuse dry and away from the hottest parts of the engine bay.
Wire size should follow the full load of the bar plus the fuse you choose, with short runs to limit voltage drop. Inspect the wiring after each event, looking for chafed insulation where cables cross edges, and re-tighten grounds. Light bars take hard knocks, so mounting hardware and cable clamps deserve a check before each run.
