Overview
The Warn Rock Crawler stubby front bumper with light and D-ring mounts in black, part number 87650, is a narrower version of Warn’s Rock Crawler Bumper. It is made from 3/16 inch steel plate with a black powder coated wrinkle finish, and the grille guard is not included.
Warn laser-cuts and CNC-forms the bumper for durability, tapers the ends for increased approach angles and welds on eyelets for D-shackles. Hidden mounting hardware gives a clean finish with reduced fastener corrosion, and no drilling is required. Warn says its bumpers accept all WARN mid-frame winches with a capacity of 12,000 lb and under, excluding the M8274-50, and there are recessed ports and mounts for Warn W350F lights.

Winch and recovery setup
A front bumper with eyelets and winch mounts changes how recovery loads reach the vehicle. Pull straight when possible, and keep the winch line aligned with the fairlead to prevent side loading on the mount. Use rated D-shackles and recovery straps matched to the load, and keep hands and bystanders clear of the line while winching. A winch that is too heavy for the vehicle can overload the bumper and its hardware.
Stubby bumpers leave less overhang, which can help with approach angles, but they also put the light and winch area close to the ground. Check the mounts after each hard recovery, looking for cracks in the welds, loose fasteners and bent mounting brackets. Light and winch wiring should be routed where rocks and brush cannot snag it. Keep the powder coat in good condition, since chips can start rust on bare steel underneath.
