Choosing a lift height
Lift blocks change the angle where the driveshaft and pinion meet, so the rear of the vehicle sits higher and the drivetrain works at a different angle. Riser blocks of this type are usually paired with longer shocks, brake hose extensions and sometimes a pinion angle check. Before fitting, look at the spring pack, the U-bolt legs and the shock mounts so the new height does not strain any part.
After installation, recheck the U-bolt nuts after the first drives, since the clamp settles as the spring pack seats. Inspect the risers for cracks or uneven seating at each service, and keep the washers between nut and plate. A tapered riser keeps its orientation only when installed as supplied, so note the taper direction before tightening. Expect some change in ride and steering feel, and check alignment once the height is set.
