Overview
The Power Stop KC2172-36 is a Z36 Extreme Performance Truck and Tow 1-Click brake kit with calipers for the rear of the 2007–2009 Chrysler Aspen, 2004–2009 Dodge Durango, 2002–2010 Dodge Ram 1500 and 2011–2018 Ram 1500.
Unlike most Z36 kits, KC2172-36 is a rear-axle part. Power Stop describes Z36 as heavy-duty braking with slotted and cross-drilled rotors and high-friction metallic pads, improving braking in wet, hot and hilly conditions and when towing at max weight.

Rear brake work
Rear brakes do less of the stopping work than the front, but they still matter for stability and for keeping the vehicle straight under hard braking. Because rear corners are often serviced less often, the caliper slides and parking brake mechanism may be older than expected. Clean and lubricate the slides when the pads come off, and confirm the parking brake holds before returning the vehicle to service.
Towing and loaded trucks put more weight on the rear axle, which can increase rear brake load under heavy braking. Rear pads and rotors on trucks often wear at different rates from the front, so check each axle separately at every service.
