Overview
The Crown Automotive 5010030AA is a drive shaft slip yoke for the front of the rear driveshaft. It is a two wheel drive part for 1996–1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ models.

Caring for the slip yoke
The slip yoke sits at the front of the rear driveshaft and lets the shaft lengthen and shorten as the rear axle moves through its travel. The splines need to slide freely, so they should be kept clean and lightly lubricated during service. Dirt and water that get past the seal can cause the splines to bind or wear.
Look at the U-joint and the driveshaft boot or seal when the yoke is being checked, because a damaged seal lets dirt in and a worn joint sends vibration into the yoke. Off road, rocks and debris can bend the driveshaft, so inspect the shaft tube for dents after hard trail use. Before buying a replacement, compare the spline count and the front and rear ends with the old part.
