The 10-S has a new high-performance motor, a stronger gear train and a high-strength sleeve-indrum brake design. It carries an IP68 waterproof rating with advanced seals and a no-load line speed of up to 44 feet per minute. The Spydura line is built to be twice as durable as the previous generation of winches.

Care and maintenance
Synthetic rope is lighter to handle than steel cable, but it still needs care against abrasion and cuts. Inspect the rope before each use, looking for fuzzing, cut strands, glazing or damage where it runs through the hawse fairlead. Keep grit off the rope, avoid dragging it over sharp edges, and store it dry and loosely coiled to prevent kinks and compression.
A hawse fairlead works well with synthetic line because it has no rollers to pinch the rope. Use a protective sleeve where the line passes over a bumper edge. If the winch is used often, check the gear train and brake during routine service, and make sure the control pack and remote seals stay in good shape. Replace the rope if it shows consistent wear or damage.
