Overview
The L4728 is a remanufactured caliper set with brackets from Power Stop’s Autospecialty line. Match the axle and side of your vehicle to this caliper before fitting it.
Matching the axle and side
Brake calipers are sold for a specific axle and side, and a caliper set can include brackets that must match the rotor and hub for the wheel it serves. Front and rear calipers often differ in size and mounting, so position is one of the first checks before any installation starts. Many shops also replace the brake hose when a caliper is changed, because an old hose can swell and restrict flow.
Once the position is confirmed, inspect the pistons, slides and boots, and make sure the brackets sit flat on the knuckle or carrier. Replace pads and check rotor thickness at the same time, since mismatched friction material can cause uneven braking. After installation, bleed the brake system and test the pedal before driving.
