Overview
The G2 Axle and Gear 1/2 inch 20 x 1.5 inch screw-in wheel stud, part number 95-1220-1, is a replacement stud for drum brake applications. It is the same stud type used in the brand’s axle kits and is sold individually.
The stud is universal fit, so its length and thread must suit the hole it threads into. Compare it with the stud it replaces before installing.
Key features

Choosing a replacement stud
A wheel stud carries clamp load from the lug nut into the hub, so its threads and base need to be sound. Screw-in studs thread into a hole in the hub, which makes the fit between thread and hub important. Before buying a replacement, compare the length of the old stud, its thread pitch and the depth of the hole it occupies.
Studs are often replaced in groups. When one stud has failed, inspect the rest for stripped or stretched threads, rust around the base and any movement in the hub. Replacing a single failing stud while others are worn can leave the set uneven under load.
- Check thread pitch against the old stud
- Look for rust or cracks at the stud base
- Replace studs that spin when the nut is tightened
