Overview
The Daystar KJ04502BK is a 1 inch body lift that uses replacement body mounts to raise the body 1 inch above the frame. Daystar makes these as full mount replacements instead of stacking spacers on the factory mounts. The polyurethane mounts come with black bushings, and the kit includes the hardware needed to swap them in. It suits builders who run belly-mounted skid plates, engine swaps, or larger tire and wheel packages that need added body clearance. Confirm fit for your vehicle’s year, model and trim before ordering.
Since the body moves up on new mounts, the design keeps the body centered and aligned on the frame. The polyurethane compound resists vehicle fluids and road grime while still damping chassis noise and vibration between the body and frame. Because the body is relocated, fuel filler necks, wiring, and the steering sector shaft need no extra changes.

Body lift considerations
Adding body height changes the relationship between the body, frame and the parts that connect them. Raising the body with new mounts is a common step for clearance work, but it also changes the angles of driveline components, so the results should be checked after installation. Look at the driveshaft angles and any joints that sit at a sharper angle than before.
Brake lines, the parking brake cable, the throttle linkage and the wiring harness often have to reach farther when the body moves up. Check each one for stretch or chafing once the lift is installed. Extended lines or new brackets may be needed depending on the application, so review those before driving the vehicle on the road.
Because a body lift raises the center of gravity, handling and braking can feel different. Retorque all fasteners after the first few drives, and check the new mounts for settling. Keep the work area supported and never rely on the body alone while working under a raised vehicle.

Installation notes
This lift swaps out the factory body mounts, so it is a replacement job rather than a shim installed on top of them. Depending on vehicle age, check the remaining mounts and nearby components, and replace anything showing wear or cracking before the new mounts go in. Transfer case linkage brackets come with some applications only, so confirm they are supplied for your vehicle. Keep the raised body supported safely whenever you work underneath it.
What’s included
The kit includes the replacement body mounts with black bushings and the necessary installation hardware. Transfer case linkage brackets are included on some applications.
