Overview
The Smittybilt XRC synthetic winch rope, part number 97780, is a 100 foot gray rope made from Dyneema SK-75. It is lighter and stronger than traditional steel cable and is built not to kink, curl or splinter.
The rope is UV stable and heat treated. It includes a 10 foot protective sleeve, a stainless steel thimble and a safety hook with a connector link, so it comes ready to connect to a winch.

Handling and long-rope care
A 100 foot rope gives more room on a winch drum, but a long length also means more chances for tangles and drag. Lay the rope out in a clear area before first use, and feed it onto the drum under light tension so each layer seats evenly. Avoid letting the rope run loose across the ground, where it can pick up debris.
Wipe the rope down after muddy or salty outings and let it dry fully before rolling it back up. Check the hook end regularly, because that is where the rope takes the most stress during a pull. A rope that shows heavy fuzzing, cuts or heat glazing near the eye should be retired. Keep the protective sleeve in place near the winch, since it guards the first few feet from abrasion.
