Overview
The Rugged Ridge 11421.04 is a billet aluminum parking brake handle cover for the 2007–2012 Jeep Wrangler (JK). Rugged Ridge CNC machines the part, and the product line is offered in a lightly brushed or black anodized finish.
The cover replaces the factory component to refresh the interior of the Wrangler JK with no drilling or modification.
Key features
- CNC machined billet aluminum
- Replaces the factory parking brake handle cover
- No drilling or modification
- Installs with simple hand tools
- Rugged Ridge offers the line in brushed or black anodized finishes
Grip, heat and wear
The parking brake handle is one of the most touched parts of the interior, so the cover sees steady hand contact. Billet aluminum conducts heat quickly, which means a metal cover can feel cooler in winter and warmer in direct sun than a plastic one. Its surface can also show fingerprints and light marks, so a soft cloth is useful for routine wiping.
Over time, the hand-contact area of any handle wears and shifts. Check that the cover sits flush and does not rattle when the brake is set and released. If the factory handle underneath is worn or loose, address that before fitting a new cover, because the cover only sits on the existing part.
- Wipe fingerprints with a soft cloth
- Check that the cover sits flush
- Address any loose factory parts first
- Expect warmer or cooler feel with the seasons
