Overview
The Bestop RoughRider Spare Tire Organizer, part number BST54135-35, is a black organizer that stores items on the outside of a Jeep. Bestop designed it to fit tires from 38″ to 40″ in size and to match the top of the vehicle.
The organizer is made from Bestop’s diamond-point fabric, which Bestop says makes it tough. Storing gear outside keeps the interior space open for passengers and precious gear.
Key features
- Custom designed for tires from 38″ to 40″ in size
- Made with diamond-point fabric to match the top
- Stores items on the outside of the Jeep
- Keeps interior space open for passengers and gear
Choosing a spare tire setup
An outside spare tire carrier shifts weight to the rear of the vehicle, so tire size and total load matter. Choose a carrier that matches your spare’s diameter and width, then confirm that the tire sits securely before every trip. An underinflated or oversized spare can rub the mount or affect tailgate clearance.
Check the lock hardware, straps and attachment points regularly, especially after rough trail use where vibration can loosen fasteners. Keep the spare tire inflated to its rated pressure, since a soft tire adds strain to the mount. If you carry gear beside the spare, keep it light and well secured so the rear load stays balanced.
- Match the carrier to your spare tire diameter
- Re-check straps after rough trail use
- Keep gear light and balanced
