Overview
The Assault Industries push-to-talk communications plate, also called a PTT plate (part ASI100005SW0621), installs between the steering wheel and its hub or quick release. It lets a comm radio push-to-talk button be used with the steering wheel.
The plate is machined from 6061 T6 billet aluminum and finished in black anodize. The push-to-talk button itself is not part of this item.

Steering wheel radio controls
A push-to-talk plate gives a steering wheel a way to key a comm radio without moving a hand off the wheel. The plate itself carries no electronics; the button and its wiring come from the radio side, so the cable route and button position need planning before the plate goes on. Make sure the wiring can move freely through the full steering range.
Anodized aluminum wears slowly, but grip edges and contact points can scuff over time. Wipe the plate with a soft cloth and keep grit off the mounting surfaces. Inspect the fasteners after the first few drives, and replace any plate that cracks or fits loosely on the hub.
