Overview
The Safe Jack Universal Hi-Lift Stabilizer, part S/J97M-UHS48, is a universal base plate system that supports bottle jacks or Hi-Lift type farm jacks. The base plate is the foundation, and other items are added to it to create a stable, safe platform for the jack. Interchangeable insert plates let you switch from one jack type or size to another in a couple of seconds.
The stabilizer is used with RVs, 4X4s, SUVs, service trucks and farm equipment, so it is not built around one vehicle.
Key features
- Universal base plate used as the foundation of the system
- Interchangeable insert plates for different jack types and sizes
- Works with a variety of bottle jacks and Hi-Lift type farm jacks
- Switching between jack types takes a couple of seconds
Before you buy
A jack stabilizer works by spreading the jack’s load across a wider footprint, so the base needs to sit on firm, level ground before anything is raised. Soft sand, gravel or a sloped driveway can let the jack settle or tilt, which is where most stability problems start. Clear the spot and check that the base is seated flat before you pump or crank.
Because the insert plate is what meets the jack, choosing it is the step that matters most. Look at the jack’s base and lifting saddle, then match the plate to that type. Mismatched plates can seat unevenly, so do not force a plate that feels loose or does not sit square. Inspect the base plate for cracks, bent edges or worn welds before each use, and replace any damaged part rather than repairing it on the trail.
- Check that the insert plate sits flush before loading
- Inspect welds and edges after rough trail use
- Keep the base free of mud and rock debris

Installation notes
Choose the insert plate that matches your jack before setting up the base plate. Keep hands clear of the jack and stabilizer while a load is being raised or supported, and work on firm, level ground.
