Description

Overview

The EBC Brakes USR7237 is a set of two front USR Series Sport Slotted brake rotors for the 2003–2009 Toyota 4Runner, the 2007–2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser and the 2005–2018 Toyota Tacoma.

The progressively angled slots on this EBC rotor pull in cool air, and EBC says they do it without the excessive air noise normally linked with slotted rotors. The slots also clear loose dust and debris from the contact area.

Key features

  • Quiet-running slot design, per EBC
  • Airflow through the slots lowers brake temperatures
  • Slots help increase pad life by removing dust
  • Front USR Series Sport Slotted rotors, set of two
  • Coated rotors with a direct-fit design

Before you buy

Slotted front rotors suit daily driving and trail setups where pad contact area matters. Before installing, check the hub face, the wheel bolt pattern and the caliper bracket clearance so the new rotors seat flat and run true. Clean any rust or grease from the hub and tighten the wheel bolts in a star pattern.

Slotted rotors work best when the pads are bedded in gradually on the first drives. Worn pads can wear new rotors unevenly, so replacing both together is the practical choice. At each pad change, inspect the slots for cracks and replace the rotors if deep grooves or a raised lip appear at the outer edge.

  • Replace pads and rotors as a pair when wear is uneven
  • Measure rotor thickness before reuse of any old rotor
  • Use fresh brake fluid if the system has been opened

Questions & Answers

Which vehicles does the EBC USR7237 fit?

The USR7237 fits the 2003–2009 4Runner, 2007–2014 FJ Cruiser and 2005–2018 Tacoma. Confirm fit for your vehicle's year, model and trim before ordering.

Are the USR7237 rotors slotted?

The USR7237 is a slotted rotor. EBC designed the angled slots to pull in cool air, clear dust and debris and protect pad grip, and says they do so quietly, which also increases pad longevity.

Is the USR7237 a front or rear rotor?

The USR7237 is a front rotor. This EBC Brakes USR7237 comes as a set of two with a direct-fit design and a coated finish, covering both sides of the front axle.

Should the pads be replaced along with the rotors?

Usually yes. Worn pads can wear new rotors unevenly, so replacing both together helps the pad and rotor surfaces match. Bed in the new pads gradually on the first drives.

How can I tell when slotted rotors need replacing?

Look for cracks around the slots, deep grooves across the face, or a lip at the outer edge. Pulsing or vibration under braking can also point to uneven wear that calls for inspection.
