Overview
Daystar’s KU20001YL is a full size Shock Therapy shock boot molded from poly. The boot shields the shock body from mud, dust and water, and universal fit is shown for it.
Full size boots are matched to shock dimensions, so compare your shock before ordering.
Before you buy
A full size shock boot covers most of the shock body, so its length and body diameter need to match the shock it protects. Measure the shock’s collapsed and extended lengths and the body width before buying, then compare them with the boot’s dimensions. A boot that is too short can pull loose at full compression, while one that is too long can rub on nearby suspension parts. Universal fit means the boot is not tied to one model, which puts the sizing check on the buyer.
Shock boots work best when they stay clean and undamaged. Mud, grit and water getting past a split boot can wear the shock shaft seal over time, so an inspection after each off-road trip helps. Look for cuts, cracked folds and places where the boot has pulled away from its mounts. Replacing a torn boot early costs far less than rebuilding a shock.
- Measure the shock before ordering
- Check that both boot ends seat snugly on their mounts
- Inspect after mud and water runs
