Driver side housing upkeep
Driver side parking light housings see the same weather as the passenger side, but they often get more road spray from the front tire on the driver side when parked near curbs. Over time that spray can work into the seam between the lens and the body. A slight haze on the lens is normal wear, but a lens that is cracked or holds water needs attention before the seal fails completely.
When you swap the housing, clean the mounting surface and check the body for rust before setting the new unit in place. Use a light dab of dielectric grease on the socket contacts to slow future corrosion. Keep the parking and turn signal bulbs matched in brightness so the two sides look the same when the lights are on.
