- Comes with a tool for putting bolt holes in the strips
- Fits the 1976–1986 Jeep CJ7 as a direct fit.
Weather strips and hardtop sealing
Weather strips on a hardtop close the gap between the roof panel and the body, keeping out water, dust and wind noise. On an older CJ7, the rubber also cushions the panel where it meets the frame, so a flattened or split strip can let the top shift slightly over time.
Replacing the strips is a good moment to check the hardtop edges and the mounting points they cover. Clean the sealing surface, remove old adhesive or residue, and dry it fully before pressing the new strip in place. Test-fit each strip first so the bolt holes line up with the hardtop.
- Clean and dry the sealing surface before fitting
- Test-fit each strip before pressing it in place
- Inspect the hardtop edges for cracks or loose fasteners
