Seat comfort and wear
A stationary low back seat is simpler than a recliner, so most of its wear comes from the frame, springs and foam rather than moving parts. Foam is the first part to show age, usually as flattening or uneven support under the hips. Steel frames hold up well when bolts stay tight and the seat is not left loose during driving.
Over time, check the springs for sagging and the vinyl for cracks along seams and bolsters. Keep the seat clean and dry, since moisture trapped under vinyl can speed up wear. If the seat moves or squeaks after installation, recheck the mounting bolts and the adapter brackets first.
