Overview
The Beams Tri-Lock front seat belt, part TRIYJ9295F-52, is a 4-point belt in military green (olive drab) for the front driver or passenger seat of the Jeep Wrangler YJ. Its switchable retractor can be engaged to hold you in place when the trail gets rough, then released for normal driving.

Off-road belt use
A four-point belt holds the occupant more firmly than a standard lap and shoulder belt, which matters when a vehicle is bouncing over ruts, rocks and ledges. The switchable retractor in this design lets you lock the belt for rough terrain and return to normal retraction for road driving, so the belt is not restricting movement on pavement.
Before relying on the belt for trail use, check that the retractor locks when pulled sharply and releases cleanly afterward. Inspect the webbing for fraying, cuts and sun damage, and look at the anchor points where the belt bolts to the frame. Check the buckles for smooth operation, since sand and mud can make them stick.
Some owners keep a second belt set for a rear seat or passenger, so match the belt to the position it will serve. Replace any belt that has been in a collision or shows wear, even if it still looks usable.
