Before you wire them
Tail lights carry brake, turn and running functions on separate circuits, so each function needs to be confirmed once the new assemblies are connected. Before any work begins, disconnect the battery and check each socket and connector for corrosion or broken pins. Keep the original gasket if it is in good condition and reuse it to keep moisture out.
LED assemblies draw less current than older incandescent units, so the flasher and load behavior can differ from the original lights. Test brake, turn and tail functions on each side before reassembling the interior trim and rear cargo area. Check local road-use rules for lamp color and function.
