Using traction ramps
Traction ramps give the tires a firm surface to grip when they lose contact with loose ground. Place them in front of the tire at a slight angle, and drive slowly so the tire rides up onto the ramp rather than spinning against its edge. Keep people clear while the vehicle moves.
Mud, snow and sand can dull the surface of a ramp and fill its openings. Clean the ramps after use, let them dry, and check for cracks or chipped edges before storing them. A damaged ramp may lose grip or fail under load.
