Storing removed doors
Removed doors are awkward to store, and the way they are supported affects both the door and the bag. Lay the bags flat or stand them upright on a dry surface, and keep the door window side facing up when possible so pressure is not placed on the glass or the hinge points. A cool, dry garage corner or shelf is a good spot, while damp floors and direct sun can cause fabric and seams to age faster.
Before each use, check the zippers, seams and handles. Look for fraying where the handles meet the bag, since that is where the weight of a door pulls hardest. Close the zippers fully before lifting, and avoid dragging the bag across rough concrete. Keep the bags clear of sharp tools and metal edges that can snag the nylon as they are moved.
