Before you buy
An outer door handle is the part you pull to open the door, so it takes daily use. Each pull works a return spring and a linkage that runs to the latch. When a handle feels loose or fails to snap back, the spring, the pivot pins or the latch rod are often the cause, and a new handle alone may not fix the problem.
Before buying, look at the mounting points on the door. Rust or stripped threads around the handle bolts can make a new handle sit crooked. Clean the area and check the lock cylinder linkage so the new handle moves freely. Textured finishes hide scratches well, but grit and road salt still wear them, so rinse the handle now and then.
