Overview
The Banks Power Bullet Diesel Tuner Gauge, part number 66526, is a compact boost and engine-function gauge. It is named for the EcoDiesel RAM 1500 with a 3.0L diesel and reads up to four functions from one small housing.
The Bullet is sized like a standard 2-inch gauge, so it can mount anywhere a gauge can go and keep the dash uncluttered. Banks also lists selectable power levels of STOCK, TOW and SPORT, with tunes that are not included in the package.
Key features
- Reads boost and up to four engine functions
- Standard 2-inch gauge size
- Mounts anywhere a standard gauge can go
- STOCK, TOW and SPORT power levels
- Displays critical engine functions
Reading boost and tuning
A boost gauge is most useful when you know what normal readings look like for your truck. Watch the boost reading during an ordinary drive first, so you have a baseline before any tune or power-level change. Compare readings under load with the readings you see when cruising, and note any sudden drops or spikes.
Gauge readings depend on the health of the intake and the hoses that feed the gauge. Inspect hoses and clamps for cracks or leaks, and keep wiring away from hot surfaces. A gauge that is mounted securely, with clear sight lines, is easier to read safely while driving.
- Record normal boost readings before changing tunes
- Inspect boost hoses and clamps for leaks
- Mount the gauge where it stays in clear view
