Tying down a soft cooler
A soft cooler is most useful when it stays put during transport. Cinch or fold the top before tying it down, and keep the cooler away from sharp edges and heat sources such as exhaust. Position it so the eye-hooks anchor to a solid point, and recheck the tie-down after bumps or quick stops.
Vinyl coolers tolerate water and road grit, but they benefit from being wiped clean after use. Let the interior air dry before storing so moisture does not sit in the seams. Pack ice in a sealed bag so meltwater stays contained, and keep food and drink separated from the ice where possible.
